I write straight from beginning to end starting with a fuzzy idea of where I'm going and ending somewhere else but ending nevertheless. I have never ran out of batteries.Jose Rodrigueznoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9367921.post-21126349101150147712011-06-26T22:38:10.352-06:002011-06-26T22:38:10.352-06:00Gracias por los consejos hermana. I, too, am kinesthetic as well as visual and like the feel of the sheets of paper in my hand as I compose, but my handwriting is so indecipherable and so shaky now (as I've "matured"), that it's too much of a hassle for me. So I compose several pages of a story, or the whole thing, on my laptop, print it out, then decide what to move around, delete, etc. Then back to the screen to input the changes, etc. in an iterative process. Pretty much the same with my poems: compose, print it out, identify changes, print it out again, etc. <br /><br />I think my heart knows this is a melding of processes: my old handwriting process pre-computers, my affinity for the fastness of computer writing, and my love for the feel of paper!Thelma T. Even when I have to "type" in my work, I consider that an invaluable part of my process. The collage of post-its, notes, clippings, etc. is another tool that continues to work for me. I plan to work harder at unpluggin the distractions as I work on next manuscript. I do miss the clunky feel of old-fashioned typewriters.Ernest Hoganhttp:// www.mondoernesto.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9367921.post-2603988610057217292011-06-24T08:34:15.490-06:002011-06-24T08:34:15.490-06:00good post. i find, too, that the distractions of e...good post. i find, too, that the distractions of email and social media are almost torments at times. writing by hand, now, is too difficult for anything but outlining stories on yellow pads. but one option i'm looking into is buying a used laptop and disabling the wi-fi, so i can go somewhere and just write without the distractions of the internet....sam quinonesSam Quinoneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14931391786934399456noreply@blogger.com
