Sessions can be safely streamed into the classroom and shared with students using an educator's account. Classrooms can engage with festival authors and illustrators using the live-chat option! All video content will be recorded and available after the festival. Sign up for our newsletter to receive links to all the panels directly to your inbox!
The festival was created by Las Musas, a collective of Latinx women and otherwise marginalized people whose gender identity aligns with femininity, writing and/or illustrating in traditional children's literature. We thank the many volunteers who have shared our vision for this beautiful event and have given their time, energy, and talents to make it a reality.
The Latinx KidLit Book Festival is a virtual celebration of Latinx KidLit authors, illustrators, and books for all readers and educators. The festival will open its virtual doors (via YouTube) from December 9-10, 2021, and present two free days of keynote sessions, Q&A events, and panels with your favorite Latinx authors and illustrators of picture books, middle grade, young adult, graphic novel, and poetry. The sessions are geared towards readers and educators everywhere. Everyone is welcome!
The Latinx KidLit Book Festival panels have been crafted in collaboration with teachers and educators, including members of NCTE’s Latinx Caucus. Our programming is meant to both educate and entertain and be a resource for schools, teachers, and librarians across the globe. Our content is perfect for readers of all ages and book lovers everywhere.
For your convenience, we have created a festival store on Bookshop.org, an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores.
