LA BLOGA ADDS A NEW MEMBER TO OUR FAMILIA

La Bloga is pleased to announce the addition of a new person as part of this little endeavor. Her name is Gina Ruiz. Some of you may already know Gina from her book reviews on her site, AmoxCalli as well as at Xispas. Gina has worked in the entertainment industry for 10 years with stints at Disney Corporate Management Audit/ABC Broadcasting. She is now general manager of a completely online publication group specializing in the animation and visual effects industry worldwide. Gina is active in Aztec dancing and culture, Chicano rights activism and collected modern first editions. She resides in El Sereno and has four children, plus six — shortly to be eight — grandchildren. Her friend Sarah Baisley says that Gina’s life is a telenovela. Well, good, we need a little more drama around here. Please welcome Gina and her insightful reviews and analysis of Chicano/a children’s literature and presses each Thursday. She will begin next week, August 25.
