“Cenizas / Ashes / Cenuşa” by Xánath Caraza

“Cenizas / Ashes / Cenuşa” by Xánath Caraza

Xanath Caraza

Xanath Caraza

Cenizas

Entierro las manos en el barro.

Guarda mi esencia.

El agua me rodea.

Isla de palabras sembrada de luz

donde las sílabas brotan.

Dadora de versos.

Ritmos luminosos en la montaña

sombras lunares dan vida

a mi silueta en esta isla.

Aquí enterré mi corazón.

Ulula, viento, espárceme.

Cenizas lunares renacen.

Xanath Caraza

Ashes

I bury my hands in mud.

It preserves my essence.

Water surrounds me.

Island of words sown with light

where syllables sprout.

Giver of verses.

Luminous rhythms on the mountain

lunar shadows give life

to my silhouette on this island.

Here I buried my heart.

Howl, wind, scatter me.

Lunar ashes are reborn.

“Veredas / Paths / Trotuare” by Xánath Caraza

“Veredas / Paths / Trotuare” by Xánath Caraza

Xanath Caraza

Camino las veredas

de mis sueños donde

furtivamente descubro

tu esencia, poesía.

En el onírico arrecife duermo

con anémonas y rojos corales.

Despierto y un hilo de tu aroma

golpea los sentidos.

Corrientes de palabras inundan.

Fragor de fuerza incontenible.

Las secas cascadas se llenan

con lágrimas y sílabas.

Voladores peces en el viento.

Me arrastra el acuático

sentimiento hasta ti, poesía.

Sombras lingüísticas en sueños.

Xanath Caraza

Paths

I stroll down paths

of my dreams where

I furtively discover

your essence, poetry.

In the dreamlike reef I sleep

with anemones and red coral.

I awake and a hint of your scent

strikes my senses.

Currents of words inundate.

Clamor of uncontainable strength.

Dry cascades are filled

with tears and syllables.

Flying fish in the wind.

The aquatic emotion drags

me toward you, poetry.

Linguistic shadows while I slumber.

Xanath Caraza

Trotuare

Mă plimb pe căile

viselor mele unde

Baila y gira muerte violeta.

Muévete como papel picado

vibra al unísono conmigo

haz de mi corazón el tuyo.

Escríbeme una canción.

Xanath Caraza

From My Window

Whistle, death from my window

those who listen sing in unison

color gone from naked branches

leaves rustle underfoot.

Arise, vibration of old

encounter the hand that writes.

We dream of living and we sense

aromas in our most secret memory.

Steadfast obsidian eyes

fixed upon mine

empty sensation

silent cold.

Speak, death from

the red window and pierce

the glass with your enigmatic voice.

Dance and spin violet death.

Move like papel picado

vibrate in unison with me

make my heart yours.

Write me a song.

“Sin preámbulos” por Xánath Caraza

“Sin preámbulos” por Xánath Caraza

Violeta es la mañana

sin preámbulos

se filtra la luz

en las grietas

se escurre el delirio

en los pétalos

saetas de color rompen

la superficie que tocan

tiñe aurora los recuerdos

polícroma melodía

violeta fue la luz

se desvanece

con la brisa

ráfaga de fuego

tiempo violeta

delinea la partida

tic-tac, tic-tac

tic-tac, tic-tac

Xanath Caraza

Without Preamble

Violet is the morning

without preamble

light filtering

through crevasses

delirium sliding

down petals

colored arrows broaching

the surfaces they touch

polychrome melody

tinting memories dawn

violet was the light

it dissipates

with the breeze

bursts of flame

violet time

delineates the departure

tick-tock, tick-tock

tick-tock, tick-tock
